Interactive Session on Doing Business with Hong Kong and Mainland China

Invest Hong Kong, the government Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), in association with The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised an ' Interactive Session on Doing Business with Hong Kong and Mainland China." on 7th May, 2019 at Kolkata. Welcome address was delivered by Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, Senior Vice President, BCCI. He explained the Historical legacy between India and Hong Kong (1814 -50 up to 1996). In brief, being one of the leading exporters of commercial services, Hong Kong is a major draw for trade and commerce from other countries, since it exercises and advocates free trade with a very liberal investment outlook with hardly any trade barriers and scant discrimination towards overseas investors. Mr. Stephen Phillips, The Director General, Invest HK, Government of Hong Kong comes with over three decades of international experience in both private and public sectors in Asia. He informed that Hong Kong is a free port, pursue a free trade policy and do not maintain barriers on trade. He also explained " Why Invest in Hong Kong - Where Business Goes to Grow:”  Over 30,000 people of India heritage live in Hong Kong and over 1000 Indian companies are located in Hong Kong.  He invited all to Hong Kong - A uniquely international business city with a Chinese perspective. The session concluded with thanks giving by   Mr. Charlie  Idiculla, Consultant , InvestHK. Mr Tarun Sen joined the session on behalf of NTR Pvt. Ltd.
