NTR Pvt. Ltd. in Infra Structure Summit

Neogi Technologies And Research Pvt. Ltd. joined the Infra Structure Summit 2016 organized by BCC&I on 29th September, 2016 at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata. Mr. Sutanu Ghosh, President BCC&I in his welcome address mentioned about the non availability of effective platform for infrastructure related business. The other eminent speakers were Mr. Dhruv Bhalla from Srei Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Rupali Basu from Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals Ltd., Dr. Arup Roy Choudhury, Ex NTPC Ltd., Mr. Rohit Singh, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India, Mr. Vinayak Chatterjee from Feedback Infra Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways , Govt. of India joined the session through Video Conference in between. The points which came up in the discussion were that development in infrastructure needs to address different areas like health sector, finance, vocational training and integral part of our education, roads and transport etc. It was also highlighted that the projects undertaken by the Central as well as State Govt. are delayed resulting in the direct effect of huge cost overrun. It was also identified that the cost, quality, schedule, safety and dispute resolution to be the main cause of cost overrun. One important point which came up in the meeting was that ‘Information less assessment in Infrastructure’. It was proposed also to have National Market of Electricity because the Central Govt. does not have any control over distribution of electricity which is state dominated but they have the power generating sources.  Mr. Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Govt. of India stressed on building it today rather than tomorrow. He also advised to plan today as well as to invest today. With respect to Railway functions, he told that there were huge back logs running in different areas which are to be taken up immediately. He told about the diversity of culture from state to state.

After, the inaugural session, there was two sessions Executive Trac-I on Power Sector – Cost Efficiency & Technology and Executive Trac-II on Issues on Rail, Road and Infrastructure for Multimodal Transport. While the first session dealt with the alternative source of energy, the second session stressed on PPP model of operation for the implementation of different infrastructure related projects.
