The meeting of MSME Sub Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry (ER) was held on 27th July, 2018 at CII Office, Kolkata. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ashok Agarwal. Ms. Nita Karmakar and Mr. Ashok Barat of CII were also present in the meeting. Mr. Tarun Kumar Sen joined the meeting on behalf of NTR Pvt. Ltd. Some of the members expressed their problems such as Delayed payment, Bank Guarantee, GST on EXPORT item and Refunds and non-availability of Government facilities as focused. It was mentioned in the meeting that CII is taking a lot of initiatives for the development of MSME units which for the best interest of the organization cannot be surfaced always. He requested all the members to put forward their problems to CII so that proper actions can be taken for addressing the problems. The committee also requested the members to take active part in “SYNERGY" - state MSME conclave at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, New Town, Kolkata on 20th - 21st August 2018. It was also discussed in the meeting that the main constraints faced by any MSME unit is the lack of funds. The Govt. of India has already introduced “TREDS” (Trade Receivable Discounts System), a new path instituted by the Reserve Bank of India to support MSME s. TRED - is solution which lets MSME unlock working capital without the hassle of applying for loans / cash flows. The meeting was very participative.
