Confederation of Indian Industry, Centre for WTO Studies, New Delhi and IIM Bangalore jointly organized Stake Holders’ consultation on services and trade issues in RCEP region on 12th February, 2019 at Taj Bengal, Kolkata. It also discussed on the ways and means of increasing the service exports of India in the Asia Pacific region through RCEP. The RCEP attempts to achieve a comprehensive economic partnership among ASEAN member states and its “Plus Six” partner: Australia, China, India, New Zealand and South Korea. The agreement will encompass trade in goods and services, economic and technical issues, Intellectual property and investment and dispute settlement mechanisms. MSME got an opportunity to express their idea and to increase export services to the RECP countries. Prof Rupa Chanda RBI Chair Professor, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Dr Pralok Gupta, Centre for WTO Studies, IIFT, New Delhi explained lucidly RCEP challenges, opportunities for India.
